Henderson explains his absence
New England running back TreVeyon Henderson has broken his silence on why he has been away from the team. In a post on social media on Friday, the 24-year-old said he suffered a medical emergency involving a series of unexplained neurological symptoms that kept him in hospital for several days.
Henderson first appeared on the Patriots’ injury report with an illness on 29 October. He missed the Week 8 win at Miami and has been ruled out for Sunday’s home game against Green Bay.
By his own account, extensive testing came back positive and reassuring, yet the cause remains unknown. He said the symptoms affected his strength, coordination and some physical functions, and that he is working with specialists and physical therapists on his recovery.
