Transfer news: PSG no longer rules out a Bradley Barcola exit

PSG: Barcola talks stall as contract extension talks hit a standstill

Two years from the end of his deal, Bradley Barcola is still in limbo at Paris Saint-Germain. Talks over an extension have been dragging on for months without any real progress, and the 23-year-old has yet to lock down his future in the capital.

Meanwhile, PSG, fresh from winning the Champions League for a second straight year, are pushing ahead with several key cases. One of them is the club’s clear desire to secure Ousmane Dembele’s future, a sign of where the sporting hierarchy has set its priorities.

A contract situation stuck in neutral

Signed from Olympique Lyonnais, the French winger is tied to PSG until 2028, but his immediate future remains up in the air. Talks between his camp and the Paris hierarchy have been going nowhere for some time. What started out as an attempt to get ahead of the issue has slowly bogged down.

Inside the club, though, there is still plenty of appreciation for the player. Luis Enrique, Luis Campos and Nasser al-Khelaifi all view his progress and integration into the squad in a positive light. There is also some understanding of the player’s demands, seen as fair given his status and age.

Last week, Moussa Sissoko, who represents Bradley Barcola as well as Ousmane Dembele, spoke with Luis Campos about several contract situations across the Paris squad. But those discussions did not get the former Lyon man moving.

PSG are no longer ruling out a departure

With negotiations moving at a snail’s pace, the club’s stance has shifted. PSG are not actively trying to sell him, but they are no longer completely shutting the door on an exit if no contract solution comes together in the coming months. So the case remains open, with no final call yet.

For his part, Bradley Barcola does not want a showdown with his club. He has no intention of forcing his way out and plans to let the talks run their course. No final scenario is expected to be set before the end of the World Cup, giving all sides time to settle their positions.
