A helmet-to-helmet hit, then a day of tests
Tennessee spent today waiting on results and came away close to relieved. Wan’Dale Robinson is not believed to have suffered a concussion in Thursday’s joint practice against the Bears, NFL Network reported this morning.
The receiver took a helmet-to-helmet hit from Chicago safety Xavier Woods. Titans head coach Robert Saleh needed one word for it afterwards: cheap. Robinson walked to the locker room under his own power while both squads were being pulled apart on the field.
Tennessee will keep checking him for symptoms in the coming days. The wording in the report was that early indications are positive, which is not the same thing as cleared.

Why the Titans need him upright
Robinson is 25 and arrived in Nashville this year on a four-year, $78 million deal in free agency, the sort of figure a franchise commits when it has decided a slot receiver is part of the structure rather than a luxury item.
He earned it in New York. Last season produced career highs across the board: 92 receptions, 1,014 yards and four touchdowns. Across four years with the Giants, the 2022 second-round pick finished with 268 catches for 2,465 yards and nine scores in 54 games, 33 of them starts.
Put another way, roughly 40 percent of his career receiving yardage came in that final Giants season alone. Tennessee paid for the trajectory, not the back catalogue.
The joint-practice bill
Joint sessions exist so coaches can get competitive reps against an unfamiliar defence without the exposure of a preseason game. Thursday in Nashville was the counter-argument: a scuffle that needed two staffs to break up, a receiver walking off for testing, and a head coach publicly labelling an opposing safety’s hit.
Woods has not been disciplined publicly, and the Bears have said nothing about the collision. Nothing in Friday’s report suggests Tennessee expect to be without Robinson.
