Toronto waited until the 87th minute to hit the target
That statistic tells you most of what happened in Missouri. St. Louis City beat Toronto FC 3-1 and pushed their unbeaten run in MLS to 16 games.

Three goals, and none of them scrappy
Carlo Holse got the first on 41 minutes, released behind the line by a Matan pass and beating Luka Gavran at his boot. Gavran had already clawed a Matan effort away with his fingertips shortly before. Beyond that, the first half gave Toronto almost nothing.
Tomas Totland made it two in the 55th, arriving at the end of a move Becher and Wallem had already torn through, finishing a Matan ball on the edge of the area.
The third came 13 minutes later and it was cruel. Nicksoen Gomis, barely on the pitch, gave the ball away to Wallem, who squared it for Simon Becher to walk in one-on-one. Becher has seven in his last nine league outings.
Zimmerman’s bad night gets worse
Lewis Morgan finally forced Roman Burki into a save on 87 minutes. Theo Corbeanu nodded in a set-piece consolation in stoppage time, costing the Swiss keeper a third clean sheet of the season. Damion Downs had a first MLS goal chalked off for offside moments before that.
Toronto (6-9-11, 29 points) have lost back-to-back league games for the first time since May. Walker Zimmerman collected a yellow card, one month to the day after his red against Charlotte, and misses the next game on accumulation. He also limped out of the action after Totland’s goal.
One thing went right for the Canadians. Jonathan Osorio was back on the pitch, his first appearance since July 31.
St. Louis (12-6-8, 44 points) keep going. They also won the only previous meeting between these two, back in 2023.
