Twenty-two minutes, and his first start was over
Anis Soubeir waited a long time for Saturday night. He got 22 minutes of it. The Monaco midfielder went down at the Meinau during the 1-1 draw at Strasbourg, and Monday morning’s tests came back with a right ankle sprain and nothing structural. L’Equipe reports around three weeks out before he returns to training.
Filipe Luis had picked the 19-year-old to start, the first of his professional career. The left-footer never made it to the half-hour mark.

A harmless touch, then the ankle goes
It looked like nothing. Soubeir got tangled with Ismael Doukoure inside the Strasbourg box and his right ankle twisted under the challenge. He came off moments later, replaced by Matthis Abline.
Metz produced him, and Monaco signed him in the summer of 2025. He had appeared in all six of ASM’s competitive fixtures this season, which is why Filipe Luis felt comfortable handing him a start. Six games in, the run stops.
Second place, thinner midfield
Monaco sit second in Ligue 1 on ten points, level with Lille and Rennes. The draw at Strasbourg cost them two points but kept the club in the group at the top.
Filipe Luis now works without his young midfielder for at least three weeks. The fixture list does not thin out in that window.
