Two breakaways settle it in Chicago
Dor Turgeman scored once and created the other as New England beat the Chicago Fire 2-1 on Sunday afternoon, ending a seven-match unbeaten run for the hosts.
The Revolution struck in the 39th minute. Jackson Yueill launched a pass from inside his own penalty area, Turgeman outmuscled Samual Rogers near the halfway line, drove into the box and finished right-footed inside the left corner for his seventh goal of the season.
The second came early in the second half and followed the same script. Yueill picked out Turgeman again on the left wing, and his cross reached Peyton Miller at the far post for a left-footed tap-in, the fifth goal of Miller’s campaign.

Lewandowski denied twice in the air
Chicago pulled one back in the 62nd minute. Robin Lod laid it off for Maren Haile-Selassie, who struck left-footed from the top of the box for his eighth goal and his fifth in five games.
The Fire then chased an equaliser and found Robert Lewandowski twice. Philip Zinckernagel curled a cross in from the right in the 89th minute and Lewandowski met it, only for Matt Turner to dive low and claim the ball by his bottom-left post. In the sixth minute of stoppage time Andrew Gutman delivered another, and Lewandowski’s header drifted just wide of the left upright.
Turner finished with five saves, and New England held on.
Third place, and a road trip that paid
The Revolution move to 13-8-4 and 43 points, taking sole possession of third in the Eastern Conference. The result closed a four-game road stretch that returned nine points from a possible twelve, the kind of return that changes how a season looks with a month to play.
Chicago stay on 39 points at 11-7-6. Haile-Selassie keeps scoring, Lewandowski keeps arriving in the right places, and the run that had carried the Fire through seven matches is over.
