Two counters, two goals, same supplier
Seven matches without defeat. Over.
Chicago lost 2-1 at home to the New England Revolution on Sunday afternoon. Two counterattacks did it.
The first landed in the 39th minute. Jackson Yueill hit a long diagonal from inside his own box. Dor Turgeman beat Samuel Rogers to it, drove into the area and slid a right-footed finish into the bottom-left corner. Seventh goal of his season.
The second came right after the break. Same pattern, same supplier. Yueill found Turgeman on the left, and his cross reached Peyton Miller for a left-footed finish at the far post. Miller’s fifth of the campaign.
A goal and an assist. Turgeman needed two touches to decide the afternoon.

Lewandowski came within inches, twice
Chicago got back to 2-1 in the 62nd minute through Maren Haile-Selassie, left-footed from the edge of the box, teed up by Robin Lod. Eighth of the season for him. Five in five.
Then the late stuff.
89th minute. Philip Zinckernagel curled a cross in from the right. Robert Lewandowski met it with a header in the middle of the box. Matt Turner dived and held it near the left post.
Sixth minute of stoppage time. Andrew Gutman picked out the Pole again. Another header, this one skimming just wide of the same post.
Five saves for Turner. He is the reason New England left with anything.
Nine points from four on the road
New England move up to third on their own in the Eastern Conference. Thirteen wins, eight losses, four draws, 43 points.
That number gets better with context. Sunday closed out a run of four straight away games, and the Revolution came out of it with three wins, one defeat and nine points from a possible 12. Road trips like that usually cost teams more than they return.
Chicago stay on 39 points, with 11 wins, seven losses and six draws. Four behind the side that just beat them.
The run ends. The season doesn’t.
