Cincinnati took this one 7-5, and the box score barely bothered with singles. Four balls left the yard.
Hector Rodriguez opened it with a three-run shot. Tyler Stephenson answered with a two-run blast of his own. Dane Myers and Sal Stewart tacked on solo homers. Six of the seven Reds runs arrived in the air, which is either a strength or a warning depending on how you feel about a lineup that lives on slug.

Chase Burns is 15-3 and nobody is talking about it enough
Burns worked five and two-thirds. Six hits, three runs, two earned, one walk, seven strikeouts. That pushes him to 15-3, one of the best marks anywhere in the league this year.
Emilio Pagan slammed the door for save number 19. With Cincinnati scrapping for a playoff berth, every clean inning in late August carries weight it would not carry in May.
Shota Imanaga wore it for Chicago. Six runs on eight hits over five, and the Japanese left-hander falls to 8-10. A rotation already short on answers did not need that.
The seventh inning changed the mood
Elly De La Cruz was two-for-four with a double before he walked off in the seventh. Tightness in the left quad, per the club. No timetable.
That is the part Reds fans will chew on tonight. A month of regular season remains, the race is tight, and losing the most complete player on the roster would reshape everything. Whether this was caution or a genuine problem, the next day or two will say.
Chicago hardly played badly. Pete Crow-Armstrong went deep twice, days removed from a three-homer game. Nico Hoerner had two hits and an RBI, Ian Happ two hits, Michael Conforto another run driven in. It still came up two short.
