An agreement expected in October
Adrien Rabiot is set to extend his stay at AC Milan. The 31-year-old midfielder, who arrived last summer from Marseille, is said to be close to agreeing a long-term deal with the Lombardy club. According to Foot Mercato, talks are moving in the right direction and a signing is expected in October.
The deal would run for at least two years, with an option for a third. That would keep Rabiot in Milan until 2031. He would be 36 by the end of it. Not bad going for an outfield player at that level.

Amorim wants to keep him
Ruben Amorim, the Milan coach, is making no secret of his wish to keep him. “He is a crucial player for our project, I like everything about him. We want to keep him and, if possible, renew his contract,” he said. Those words underline just how central the Frenchman has become to the Rossoneri since his arrival.
On the pitch, Rabiot is delivering. Since Amorim took charge, he has played six competitive matches, scored two goals and provided two assists. Strong numbers for a 31-year-old midfielder, and proof he has lost none of his bite in the middle of the park.
Still vice-captain for France
The former Marseille man also remains a key figure for France. With 66 caps to his name, he has been named vice-captain by Zinedine Zidane, the new head coach. Another mark of recognition for a player who, after spells in Paris, Turin and Marseille, appears to have found lasting stability in Milan colours.
Now it remains to be seen whether this expected October extension will put an end to any doubt and confirm the next chapter of his Italian career.
