Three games in, still no win
Monaco left the Parc des Princes with all three points on Friday night. 2-1. PSG are already in trouble: three Ligue 1 matches played, no wins on the board.
Two draws came first, against Rennes (2-2) and Lille (2-2). Then the defeat, their first in the league this season. Add the Trophee des Champions loss to Lens and the picture turns ugly fast.
Monaco, meanwhile, sit top with nine points from nine. Lyon and Lille are right behind on seven. The gap has opened quicker than anyone in Paris expected.

Fourteen years since Paris last stumbled like this
The numbers jar for a club used to flying out of the blocks. You have to go back to 2012-13 for the last comparable start. Three matches, three draws: Lorient, AC Ajaccio, Bordeaux.
Since then PSG built a grip on the French game that made this sort of run close to unthinkable. Slow starts were supposed to belong to another era in Paris.
There is a reason to hold off on the panic. That 2012-13 side still took the title by 12 points from OM. The first QSI crown came out of a shaky opening.
Where the comparison falls apart
The 2012 team was still being assembled. Luis Enrique’s side is a finished champion dropping points to the clubs chasing the same trophy.
Two points from a possible nine can be clawed back over a Ligue 1 season. Doing it before Monaco disappear over the horizon is another question.
