A training session with a soundtrack
Saturday morning, and the PSG Campus was not quiet. Hundreds of Paris ultras turned up for the final session before the squad flew south to Marseille, drums going, flares somewhere in the mix, the whole thing closer to a matchday than a walkthrough. Luis Enrique’s players got the message.

One win in four, and the ultras know it
That is the real reason the fans showed up. One win from four Ligue 1 games is not PSG form, and Monaco underlined the point on Friday by beating Lens to go top of the table.
Paris did at least win at Brest last time out. Back that up at the Velodrome and the early-season wobble starts to look like a blip rather than a pattern. Le Classique has rescued worse starts than this one.
Marseille arrive bruised from Istanbul
Bruno Genesio’s side are hardly in better shape. Four games without a win across all competitions, and Thursday in the Europa League was ugly: a 4-1 defeat at Besiktas that left very little to defend.
Luis Enrique was asked about his opposite number on Friday. His reply travelled fast, something to the effect that he was not about to wish Genesio anything good ahead of a fixture like this one. What the Spaniard is actually thinking about is a wounded Marseille team in front of its own crowd, which is a different problem entirely.
