NBA: Pritchard’s season-high 30 powers Celtics past Bulls

Pritchard goes off the bench

Payton Pritchard scored a season-high 30 points off the bench as the Boston Celtics beat the Chicago Bulls 125-111 on Friday night. Boston led by as many as 32 points in the second quarter and has now won four straight since a season-opening road loss at Detroit.

Jayson Tatum added 26 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, and Paul George filled the box score with 18 points, six rebounds and eight assists. Neemias Queta chipped in 13 and Mitchell Robinson 11.

Chicago’s slide continues

The Bulls never recovered from the early deficit. Caleb Wilson led Chicago with 23 points, six of them on threes, with Norman Powell on 16, Matas Buzelis 14 and Josh Giddey 13. The team shot just 37.6 percent overall and 30 percent from deep, going 15 of 50 from three.

It was a fourth consecutive loss for Chicago, and a night when the perimeter shooting never came close to keeping pace with Boston’s depth.
