Fifteen years old. Already a full-blown saga.
JJ Gabriel has not even turned 16 yet. And already, his name is being linked with some of the biggest clubs in Europe. Manchester United, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, PSG. And Barcelona, mentioned, then swiftly ruled out.
Deco has made his position clear. No wriggle room. “There is nothing to say about this boy,” said the Barcelona sporting director. “We are not interested in a player in his situation. I do not even know what is going on, or if he is still a Manchester United player. We are not involved… talking about teenage players is not our thing.”

A talent already at odds with United
The young forward has been at Manchester United since he was 11. He scored a hat-trick in the Youth League on 10 September. And since then, nothing. No training with the senior group. The situation has stalled, tense and unresolved.
His contract runs out at the end of the season. He will be able to sign professional terms as soon as he turns 16, on 6 October. That date changes everything for United, and for every club watching from the stands.
Barcelona are out. The rest are waiting.
Deco’s comments are mainly aimed at cooling things down on the Catalan side. But they say nothing about the intentions of Madrid, Bayern or Paris. At 15, JJ Gabriel has not signed anything yet. This one has only just started.
