Four days, one name
Catalan police have found the man. Mossos d’Esquadra officers identified the supporter who tried to hit Eduardo Camavinga with a flagpole during Sunday’s Clasico, AS reported on Thursday. He belongs to one of Barcelona’s supporter groups, the Grada 1957, according to a statement from La Liga.
The incident came in the 87th minute. Real Madrid had just scored their second through Kylian Mbappé on the way to a 2-1 win at the Camp Nou, and Camavinga, who set up the goal, ran to celebrate. The cameras caught him covering his face as teammates pulled him away. Bottles, cans, lighters and an e-cigarette were also thrown in his direction, La Liga said in a report released on Tuesday.

What the man faces
Barcelona’s security staff helped the investigation, and the club’s disciplinary committee will now take up the case. Authorities have also opened proceedings under Spain’s sports law. If the offence is rated “serious”, the fine runs from 3,000 to 60,000 euros. A “very serious” label lifts the ceiling to 650,000. With no apparent injury, serious looks like the likelier category.
A stadium ban of two to five years could come on top of the fine. For a season-ticket holder in a group like the Grada, that would mean losing his seat for good.
La Liga logged 17 incidents at the match, among them racist chants and insults from fans of both teams. The league said it remains committed to stamping out violence and intolerance, and this identification is the first concrete result of that promise.
