The USA get moving again after the World Cup
First the hosts, now the road back. Mauricio Pochettino’s United States will take on Peru, Chile, Mexico and Canada across a run of autumn friendlies.
It opens on 26 September against Peru in Orlando. Three days later comes Chile in St. Louis. Then Mexico on 3 October in Glendale, and Canada on 6 October in St. Paul.
None of that is random. Two CONCACAF rivals the US keeps bumping into, two South American sides that play nothing alike. A test from every angle.

Pochettino stays, eyes already on 2030
The Argentine isn’t going anywhere either. His deal now runs through the 2030 World Cup, made official on Monday.
At this summer’s home tournament he won Group D with two victories. The US then saw off Bosnia and Herzegovina before Belgium ended the run, a step short of the quarter-finals.
Still, it counted for something. No United States team had ever won three games at a single World Cup.
A proving ground before the next cycle
Pochettino wants answers out of all this. “Our aim is always to face the best possible opponents,” he said. Four fixtures, one long dress rehearsal for a group already looking toward 2030.
