MMA: Parnasse already has a Holloway showdown in mind

One name, no hesitation

Salahdine Parnasse had his answer ready. Asked by the UFC’s YouTube channel about his dream fight, the Frenchman named Max Holloway.

“If I win against Dan Hooker, because I don’t like looking too far ahead, my dream fight would be against Max Holloway,” he said.

The pick says plenty about how he sees the sport. Holloway is not just a former UFC featherweight champion. He is a benchmark for volume, pace and stamina, a fighter who can push through five rounds at a tempo most men simply cannot live with.

Respect before the showdown

Parnasse makes no secret of his admiration. “He’s a fighter with endless cardio, a former champion, he’s done everything in the UFC and I have a huge amount of respect for him,” he added.

The Frenchman arrives in the UFC with an already serious resume, built elsewhere. Moving into the American promotion’s lightweight division changes the picture. Taking on Holloway would mean clearing several big hurdles at once.

He knows it. And he’s not about to skip the line.

Hooker first, everything else later

Before any dream fight comes Dan Hooker. The New Zealander waits for him on Saturday at UFC Paris for Parnasse’s first bout under the promotion’s banner.

Hooker has not exactly been subtle. He has warned that he plans to spoil the party in the French capital. The veteran knows the drill, the hostile crowd and the high-pressure nights.

Parnasse, for his part, has stressed that he does not like looking beyond the next fight until he’s got the win. That rule applies to Max Holloway too. Lose on Saturday, and the discussion disappears for a long time.
