“I was a complete liability”
Landon Dickerson said it about himself, on the radio, unprompted.
The Philadelphia guard took his weekly slot on WIP on Monday and did not look for cover. “I was a complete liability,” he said. “It was my fault. I should not be out there until I feel healthy.”
Hours later the Eagles put him on injured reserve. Multiple reports confirmed the move, which sidelines the three-time Pro Bowler for at least four games.
He had played through a knee problem in Sunday’s 24-22 win over the Washington Commanders. He said he was rolled up on in practice a few weeks back and assumed time would take care of it. More imaging on Monday ended that idea.

Not the same knee story as last year
This one is separate from the injury that shaped his previous season. Dickerson had surgery in August 2025 on a torn meniscus, returned to start 15 games, and later said out loud that he had come back before he was ready. He is 27 now and doing the opposite.
Against Washington the mobility was gone. He allowed four pressures while the Eagles’ offensive line had a scrappy afternoon, and the tape matched what he said into the microphone.
Nick Sirianni refused to join in. “He’s tough as heck,” the head coach said. “We’ve won a ton of games with Landon.” Sirianni went to Dickerson’s power in the run game and what he has meant to Philadelphia over recent seasons.
Kendall’s turn
Drew Kendall is the name most likely to appear at left guard. Boston College, fifth round in 2025, a good offseason behind him. Philadelphia liked what it saw in the spring. Now the club finds out in real conditions, in September, with a Pro Bowler watching from the side.
Dickerson’s own framing was about the back half of the calendar. He wants to stop spending seasons dragging an injury around and be on the field when the schedule turns serious.
