A career night with Curry resting
Golden State did not need Stephen Curry or Draymond Green on Sunday. It needed Yaxel Lendeborg. The rookie forward scored a career-high 37 points on 13-of-19 shooting, hit 6 of 11 from three and added six assists in a 124-112 win over the Clippers in San Francisco.
Lendeborg had 19 points by halftime. His previous best was 31, set at Denver last Monday, the game that started this four-game winning streak. His fifth three of the night, with 8:29 left in the fourth, pushed the lead back into double digits and the Clippers never got closer.
De’Anthony Melton scored 21. Brandon Williams and Brandin Podziemski each had 17, and Podziemski finished with eight rebounds and a game-high eight assists. Starting center Charles Bassey led all players with 10 rebounds.

Clippers fade after a fast start
Los Angeles led by as many as 11 in the first quarter and went up 37-26 after a 10-0 run that included threes from Kobe Sanders and Brook Lopez. Golden State opened the second quarter on an 11-2 run and led 63-57 at the break.
A Lendeborg three with 5:20 left in the third made it 83-68. The Clippers trimmed the gap to seven by the end of the quarter, but the fourth belonged to the home side.
Rui Hachimura led the Clippers with 24 points. Darius Garland scored 15 with seven assists, Sanders had 16, and Kris Dunn added 12 points and seven steals. Los Angeles played without Brandon Ingram, Bradley Beal, Jordan Miller and Max Strus.
Back-to-back, fifth straight loss for LA
The Warriors won the second night of a back-to-back on the same floor where the Golden State Valkyries had won the WNBA title the day before. Curry and Green are expected back when the Suns visit on Monday. The Clippers have now lost five in a row.
