Fifth team, eight seasons, and Wagner keeps moving
Brooklyn is the next stop. Moritz Wagner put his name on a two-year deal with the Nets on Friday, a contract ESPN pegs at roughly $19 million, though the team stayed quiet on the exact figures.
He leaves Orlando after five and a half seasons, longer than he has lasted anywhere else. That is also the city where his brother Franz keeps building his own story. The split carries a little edge because of it.

Two meters, eight. A rotation center who does not need the ball to be worth something. Wagner has no illusions about the job waiting for him in Brooklyn.
Last season brought 6.9 points and 3.2 rebounds across 36 games, almost all of it off the bench. Stretch the whole career out and you land on 9 points and 3.9 boards in 399 games. Unspectacular. Still handy. The Lakers took him 25th out of Michigan back in 2018, and the road since has run through Washington, Boston and Orlando before this.
Brooklyn wants the mileage
The Nets are tearing it down and starting fresh. Size and experience sat near the top of the shopping list, and Wagner ticks both. Whether he can carve out real minutes in a crowded frontcourt is the part nobody knows yet, and the season will answer it quickly.
