A penalty, then a header, and nothing else
Two goals in Montreal on Saturday night, one for each side, both scored by the man leading his team for the season. It finished 1-1.
Prince Owusu opened it in the 50th minute after Keisuke Kurokawa handled in the box a minute earlier. The Montreal striker hammered the penalty in under the bar for his 11th of the year, a club best.
Tai Baribo answered in the 67th. Kimito Nono swung the cross in and the D.C. United forward buried the header over Thomas Gillier. Twelfth goal of the season for him, and a fifth consecutive game with one.

Three months without a win, and Montreal had the better of this one
The first half was all CF Montreal. They kept the ball, put two on target, and created the clearer looks. Sean Johnson stopped Owusu twice, in the 17th from a Hennadii Synchuk cross and again in the 33rd off a through ball from the same player. Synchuk then dragged his own attempt over the bar in the 37th. Goalless at the break, and it felt undeserved.
Montreal sit at 4-10-5 on 17 points. Two matches in a row with something to show for it, but the last actual win was a 2-0 over Orlando City on May 9.
D.C. United have taken points from 11 of their last 12
The visitors stretched their unbeaten run to six (1-0-5). The Black-and-Red are on 24 points at 5-5-9, and their all-time regular-season record in Montreal moves to 4-7-6.
These two met in Washington on May 23 and produced a 4-4. Saturday managed two goals between them. Montreal go to Columbus on Wednesday, D.C. United host New England.
