Football: Monaco close in on Frosinone’s Fares Ghedjemis

Monaco hunting an Akliouche replacement

Fifty million euros in, one hole to fill. Maghnes Akliouche’s move to PSG has left the right side of AS Monaco’s attack bare, and Filipe Luis said as much after the 1-0 friendly win over Getafe. He wants a winger, and he wants one quickly. The club already knows who.

Foot Mercato reports that Monaco have zeroed in on Fares Ghedjemis. The Frosinone left winger is fresh off a standout season in Serie B, and the side from the Rock has already made contact.

A Serie B breakout year

There is a lot to like. Schooled at Troyes, Ghedjemis lit up Italy last term. Voted Serie B’s best player, he racked up 15 goals and three assists in the league. That form pushed him into the Algeria squad, and he went on to feature at the 2026 World Cup.

He is 23, left-footed, and fits the Akliouche brief on almost every line. Monaco see it too, which is why they want this done without delay.

Frosinone are digging in

Nothing about it looks simple. According to Foot Mercato, Monaco opened at 7 M€ plus 2 M€ in bonuses. Frosinone said no. General manager Tiago Scuro has made the winger a priority and a second bid is coming, with a deal likely to land nearer 10 M€.

They are not alone in the queue. British outlets say Frosinone have already waved away two 10 M€ offers, one from Celtic, one from Rangers. Monaco hold one card the others do not: Ghedjemis reportedly likes the idea of the project on the Rock. Should the Italians finally cash in their prized asset, ASM could have their right winger sorted in short order.
