Two nights in a row, same story. The Seattle Mariners beat the Minnesota Twins 7-6 on Sunday, doing it again with a walk-off. That is two straight late wins against the same opponent, and that is not exactly something you see every day over a 162-game season.

Colt Emerson lit up T-Mobile Park. The young infielder lined a single to right in the ninth to bring Stuart Fairchild home from third. Game over.

Seattle had led 6-0 and looked set for a comfortable finish. Minnesota blew it wide open with five runs in the eighth to turn it back into a fight. Then Luke Keaschall tied it at the start of the ninth with a solo homer.

The Mariners answered at once. Josh Naylor opened the inning with a single before Cal Raleigh struck out. Victor Robles then sent a ball to centre. Naylor raced to third, beating the throw with a hard slide, before giving way to Fairchild, called up from Triple-A the day before.
