The tenth-inning double
Jose Ramirez ripped three doubles and drove in five runs in Anaheim on Tuesday night. Cleveland left with an 8-6 win in 10 innings after the Guardians had been down 5-0 almost from the first pitch.
The third baseman delivered the knockout blow in the top of the 10th. Facing reliever Blake Weiman, he lined a ball into the left-center gap to bring home automatic runner Brayan Rocchio, then Steven Kwan. Two runs, one out, and Cleveland had its sixth straight win.
Kwan was the night’s offensive star: 5-for-5, a walk, an RBI and three runs scored. That matched his career high for hits in a game, set on April 10, 2022 against Kansas City. Patrick Bailey also drew four walks.

Cleveland came from nowhere
Los Angeles grabbed the game by the throat early. Mike Trout scored in the first on Vaughn Grissom’s 389-foot shot, which barely scraped inside the left-field foul pole. In the second, Christian Moore led off with his first blast of the season, before Denzer Guzman, Adam Frazier and Zach Neto piled on three more runs. Guardians starter Gavin Williams was chased from the mound.
The comeback started in the fourth with a Travis Bazzana double, followed by Ramirezs two-run double. Rocchio and Kwan tied it an inning later with back-to-back singles. Grissom put the Angels back in front with his second homer of the game, his ninth of the year. Kwan and Ramirez pulled Cleveland level again in the eighth.
Anaheim stalls again
Erik Sabrowski struck out the side in the ninth. Cade Smith worked a scoreless 10th and picked up his 35th save of the season.
For the home side, Grissom finished with two homers and three RBIs, while Trout went 2-for-4 with a walk. Not good enough. The Angels have now lost three straight.
