MLB batting rankings shaken up
The turn of Memorial Day usually brings the heat, and plenty of MLB bats are catching fire with it. The latest MLB.com experts poll has thrown up a huge shake-up at the top of the league hierarchy. New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge has been knocked off his throne after a rare slump, opening the door for fresh faces to tear up the established order across MLB.
Corbin Carroll takes command in MLB
Against the odds, Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll has burst straight to the top of MLB. The triple king is hitting a blistering .400 with a 1.226 OPS over his last eleven games. His eight triples since Opening Day are also the best total in MLB. He now sits ahead of the dangerous Yordan Alvarez of the Houston Astros, who is firmly in second thanks to a 1.045 overall OPS, the highest in MLB.

Kyle Schwarber and the golden kids set the pace
Philadelphia Phillies power hitter Kyle Schwarber holds onto third after pushing his home run total to 21, the outright high-water mark in MLB this season. Just off the podium, Oakland Athletics rookie Nick Kurtz is turning heads around MLB with a .437 on-base percentage. Fifth place belongs to Washington Nationals star James Wood, who leads the National League in runs and walks, and sits level with Carroll for the third-best OPS in MLB.
Aaron Judge slips, Juan Soto and Ketel Marte close in
Former runaway leader Aaron Judge drops to seventh in the overall MLB rankings after managing just one homer in 14 games. He can hear the footsteps of Juan Soto, the New York Mets star, who is making a strong return despite a spell on the injured list in April. Further down, Ketel Marte crashes into the top 10 after a dream stretch in which he led all qualified MLB hitters with a .524 average. The battle is only going to get nastier from here in the 2026 MLB campaign.
