Mitchell rewrites the record book
Kelsey Mitchell scored 27 points and moved into WNBA history on Saturday, stringing together her 16th straight game of 20 or more points. That breaks the single-season record. The mark ahead of her now belongs to A’ja Wilson, whose 20-game run stretched across two seasons. Mitchell shot 11 of 22 with three 3-pointers as Indiana beat Chicago 90-86.
Caitlin Clark ran the offense with 26 points and 11 assists, drilling five 3-pointers. It was the eighth time in her career she has posted 25 points, 10 assists and five triples in a game, a line reached only four other times by anyone in league history.

A second-quarter surge did the damage
The Fever cracked a tie game open with a 13-0 run in the second quarter, Mitchell scoring eight in a row before Clark buried a 3. Indiana led 53-42 at the break and carried a 71-62 edge into the fourth. Chicago clawed back late, and Jacy Sheldon’s 3-pointer cut it to 89-86 with 28 seconds left, but Clark’s free throw sealed it. Aliyah Boston finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds, and Makayla Timpson chipped in 10.
Flashpoint and fallout
Chicago’s DiJonai Carrington was ejected in the first quarter for a Flagrant 2 foul on Sophie Cunningham, then aimed a pointed message at the Fever on social media. Clark drew a technical that the WNBA later rescinded. Had it stood, it would have been her eighth of the season and triggered a one-game suspension. She stays available as Indiana, now 20-12, hosts the New York Liberty on Tuesday.
