City and Nottingham Forest have an agreement in place, and the final paperwork will be wrapped up when the player returns to England.
City’s statement was brief, but the message was clear: Anderson is already being treated as a City player. The club wished him luck with the Three Lions before welcoming him into his new home.

A move that changes everything for Anderson
The England midfielder’s career has just taken a sharp turn. Developed at Newcastle, sold to Nottingham Forest two years ago for around 40 M€, Anderson has exploded at the City Ground to the point where the Magpies will be kicking themselves. At the time, Newcastle had to work around Premier League financial rules. Now they are probably looking at this deal with a very sour taste.
Anderson has grown into something else. This season, despite Forest’s miserable campaign, which ended in 16th place, he held the midfield together across 38 matches, scoring 4 goals and adding 4 assists.
