Third fixture shifted in a week
Lyon against Angers will no longer be played on Saturday night. The Ligue 1 clash moves to Sunday, November 1 at 5:15pm local time at the Groupama Stadium, instead of its original Saturday 8:45pm slot. The league said it acted at the request of the Rhône prefecture.
The reason is a third day of nationwide protests planned for Saturday, October 31. Authorities want police units free to handle demonstrations linked to a high school student movement and anger over the cost of living, and they have asked the league to move games accordingly. Lyon, fifth in the table, host an Angers side sitting 14th.

Nice-Rennes and Lorient-Brest also moved
Lyon-Angers is the third match to change slot this weekend. Nice-Rennes has been brought forward to Friday, October 30, after the Alpes-Maritimes prefecture pushed for a change. Lorient-Brest, the Breton derby, now kicks off on Monday, November 2 at 8:45pm, the same time as its original Saturday slot.
That derby is rated a high-risk fixture by the authorities and would have required several mobile police units around the Moustoir. The reshuffle follows a similar round of changes last weekend, although the most recent Saturday of protests turned out calmer than the one before it.
