18.9% from three, and the night was over by halftime
Golden State shot 32.5% from the floor and 18.9% from deep. Minnesota did not need much else. The Lynx won 77-66 at Chase Center overnight, and the margin flattered the hosts.
Olivia Miles put up 20 points and 7 assists. Kayla McBride matched the 20, three of those buckets arriving when the game briefly threatened to turn. Napheesa Collier posted 18 and a game-high 8 boards.
Minnesota is 30-7. Golden State drops to 25-10, second place, four games back. Five straight for the Lynx, and 15 wins in their last 16.

13 points a quarter is no way to host a title contender
Collier and Miles combined for 21 before the break. The Valkyries answered with 13 points in the first quarter and 13 more in the second. Minnesota led 41-26 at the half and later stretched it to 22.
Golden State did make one run. A 13-2 stretch bridging the third and fourth quarters pulled them within seven, twice. McBride shut the door both times, first on a jumper, then on a three with three minutes to play.
Both sides made seven from beyond the arc. Golden State needed 37 attempts to get there. Minnesota needed 19. Janelle Salaun scored all 15 of her points after the interval, and Veronica Burton finished with 14 points, 7 assists and 4 steals.
Monday’s rematch now comes with an ankle question
Miles went down with 5:06 left. She had just scored to make it 63-52, then landed on Collier’s foot on the following possession and needed help getting to the bench. The ankle looked like the problem.
Her line stayed loud anyway: 8 of 10 from the field, 3 of 5 from three. The last time she faced these Valkyries she went 1 for 10.
They do it again Monday in Minneapolis, where the Lynx will be hunting a 10th consecutive win in this matchup across regular season and playoffs.
