Prefecture request shifts Saturday’s schedule
Another week of social unrest in France, another reshuffle in Ligue 1. Auxerre’s home game with Paris FC, due to start at 5:15pm Paris time on Saturday, will now kick off at 7pm. The Yonne prefecture asked for the change because it could not guarantee security at the original time, with police forces stretched by the demonstrations, the league confirmed today.
The decision, for matchday 10, has a knock-on effect in the capital. To avoid overlapping with the Ligue 1+ broadcast of the Auxerre game, PSG’s home match against Troyes at the Parc des Princes will start at 9:05pm instead of 8:45pm.

Not the first disruption this season
This is the second time PSG’s schedule has been touched by the protests. Their game against Lyon on Sunday 25 October was postponed, with police busy in the streets and at the NFL game at the Stade de France, and was played the following evening. Other Ligue 1 fixtures have moved in recent weeks, and two Top 14 matches have also been rescheduled.
On the pitch, Luis Enrique’s side go for an 11th consecutive win in all competitions. Troyes sit 16th and arrive in better spirits than they had been, after a 2-0 win over Le Mans last weekend.
