Summer 2027 is the only date the board cares about
Twenty-eight appearances, one goal, three assists, and a midfield role nobody else could fill. That was Milan Robin’s contribution to the run that carried Le Mans into Ligue 1. The 26-year-old assumed a first taste of the top flight was coming at the club that rebuilt his career. The board sees something else on the calendar: summer 2027, when his contract expires.
Foot Mercato reports the club has flipped its position since May. Back then Robin was told he featured in the plans. Two things changed after that. Ownership turned over in June. Then the accounts needed trimming. Robin is one of the squad’s more valuable pieces, priced around 1 million euros, level with Lucas Calodat. For a newly promoted club, watching that walk out for free in twelve months would sting.

Left out against Brest, and the message landed
He was not in the squad on Saturday for the 2-2 against Brest. Before kickoff, the club had reportedly let him know it would not block a move this summer. Read it as what it is. Not a sporting snub, but an ultimatum with a thin coat of paint: you can stay, provided you sign.
Robin has not gone looking for the exit. Le Mans is still where he wants to be, and he feels wanted. He had already shaken hands with former president Thierry Gomez on revisiting his situation before the winter window. The new hierarchy just pulled the deadline forward.
Eight midfielders, three shirts
That logjam explains most of it. Adil Bourabaa, Lucas Bretelle, Alexandre Lauray, Daouda Traore, Jean Vercruysse, Milan Robin, Edwin Quarshie and Martin Rossignol are all competing for three places, and the last two have been told to find somewhere else. Behind that group, 20-year-old Lenny Videira, the coach’s son, has been the standout of pre-season. Le Mans want two or three midfielders gone before next Tuesday.
Robin scored against Angers in pre-season and the interest reflects it. Charlton and QPR are tracking him from the Championship, Racing Santander and Malaga from Spain. Which door he walks through, or whether he walks through any of them, is still his call.
