A 4-1 lead that cost a job
Lausanne-Sport announced on Tuesday that they have separated from head coach Luka Elsner, presenting the exit as a mutual decision. The timing says the rest. Lausanne led Thun 4-1 in the 69th minute of their last Super League game and lost 5-4, with Brighton Labeau scoring Thun’s fifth deep into stoppage time.
Elsner, a Slovenian, never found a way to stop the slide. Lausanne have not won a league game since 1 August and have lost ten Super League matches in a row. That run leaves them bottom of the table.

What comes next
The club has not named a successor. Whoever takes over inherits a squad that has just shown it can score four goals in a game and still lose.
Elsner arrived in Switzerland with a Ligue 1 background. He coached Le Havre and then Stade de Reims, and his time at Reims ended in February 2025.
