Center backs are not supposed to decide these nights, yet Eddie Segura did. Deep into added time at BMO Stadium, the Colombian curled a shot from distance beyond Toluca goalkeeper Hugo Gonzalez to hand LAFC a 1-0 win in their Leagues Cup group match on Saturday.

Why the timing matters
The Leagues Cup rewards teams that win inside 90 minutes, and LAFC needed the full return.
