Kita confirms three offers
Waldemar Kita has let the cat out of the bag. In an interview with Presse Ocean, the FC Nantes chairman confirmed he has received three takeover bids. “Three bids, yes. There are three bids, let’s call it what it is,” he said.
It is the first time he has been so blunt about the approaches. The sale talk is back on the agenda after months of speculation.
Kita has been in charge since 2007. Nineteen years at the helm, and a relationship with a section of the Nantes support that has long since turned sour.

“Nothing is done, nothing is serious”
The 73-year-old is still not prepared to go any further. In his eyes, none of the bids are advanced enough to talk about an exit. “I’ve always said that if there are offers, we’ll sit down, we’ll talk. If it has to happen, I’ll try to do everything I can to make sure it goes smoothly. But nothing is done, nothing is serious.”
He wants guarantees. Not just a cheque. “There are some, but things need to be much more serious. Everything has to be analysed. It’s not just about buying the club. It’s about how you make it work,” he stressed.
Translation: the three bidders will need to show they have a plan, not just the money.
A departure many would welcome
Kita has no illusions about how an exit would be received. “I think a lot of people would be happy,” he said.
That line tells you plenty about the mood around a club now back in Ligue 2 and desperate for some stability. For now, the chairman stays put. But he has opened the door himself.
