Two hundred starts, and counting
Danny Colaprico is not finished in Houston. The Dash announced a new contract on Tuesday that keeps the 33-year-old midfielder through the 2027 NWSL season, with a mutual option for 2028.
She passed a rare marker earlier this year. Colaprico became just the fourth player in the league’s history to reach 200 career starts, a number that says as much about durability as it does about standing.
Her Houston record reads plainly enough. Two assists in 47 appearances, 45 of them starts, since she arrived ahead of the 2025 season. The value the club describes sits somewhere else.

What the Dash say they are buying
“Danny has embraced what we are building in Houston and brings a level of experience and perspective that is extremely valuable to our group,” said Angela Hucles Mangano, the club’s president of women’s soccer. She pointed to Colaprico’s “ability to read the game, manage moments and set a standard in our daily environment.”
Colaprico answered in the same register. “Having spent almost two full seasons with the club, I’ve seen the commitment across the group and the work that goes into creating this new identity for the organization,” she said. “I truly believe we can accomplish something special in Houston.”
A career that runs the length of the league
The numbers stretch back to the start of it. Colaprico has five goals and 13 assists in 235 NWSL matches, 212 of them starts, split between the Chicago Red Stars from 2015 to 2022, the San Diego Wave in 2023 and 2024, and Houston since.
Chicago took her in the first round of the draft and got an immediate return. She won Rookie of the Year in 2015 and made the league’s Second XI in three consecutive seasons through 2017. San Diego got the silverware out of her, the 2023 NWSL Shield and the 2024 Challenge Cup.
Houston has none of that yet. The contract runs two more seasons, three if both sides still want it.
