Hertha Berlin won 3-1 in Osnabruck this afternoon. All three of their goals came after the break.
Brekalo opened the scoring in the 50th minute. Sessa doubled the lead in the 70th. Alfa-Ruprecht put the game to bed in the 90th+2.
Gomez had pulled Osnabruck back to 1-2 in the 82nd minute. The hope lasted eight minutes.

Eight minutes of belief, then nothing
Brekalo’s goal on 50 minutes cracked the game open. Sessa’s strike twenty minutes later gave Hertha the kind of two-goal cushion that makes late-game management a lot simpler, and for a while it looked like a routine afternoon.
Then Gomez scored on 82.
Osnabruck had a finish. What they did not have was a Hertha side willing to sit deep and invite the pressure. The Berlin club went and scored again in stoppage time instead.
Three points on the road
Winning away from the Olympiastadion is still the clearest sign that a club means business in the chase for Bundesliga promotion. Hertha ticked that box.
The Berlin club have spent several seasons in the second tier, a long way from their old standing. Every away win matters in a division where the gaps from top to middle stay tight.
For Osnabruck, the frustration will sting. They held firm for a full half, cut the deficit, then shipped the third goal at the exact moment they were pushing for an equaliser. That is the sort of thing that haunts a training week.
