Ligue 1: Hakimi hat-trick lifts PSG past Le Havre 5-1

Hakimi takes over after a Le Havre scare

Le Havre led for exactly four minutes. Josh Maja finished a slick seven-pass move in the 18th minute, and the home crowd at Stade Océane briefly believed. Then Achraf Hakimi got to work.

He laid on the equaliser for Mika Godts in the 22nd minute and, four minutes later, beat the keeper himself with a shot at the near post to make it 2-1. By the break, PSG had flipped a match they had barely started. The Friday night opener of Ligue 1’s ninth round never really recovered for the hosts.

The second half belonged to the Moroccan right-back. A free kick into the side netting in the 55th minute made it 3-1. After Maja hit the post, Senny Mayulu finished a counter that Hakimi started with a pass, and Hakimi closed the scoring in the 70th minute after a favorable bounce in front of Arnaud Bodart.

Records for the player and the coach

Three goals and two assists had never happened in Hakimi’s career. He is also the first Moroccan to score a Ligue 1 hat-trick since Sofiane Boufal did it for Lille against Gazélec Ajaccio in April 2016.

For Luis Enrique, the win was number 127 in official matches with PSG, a club record that he previously shared with Laurent Blanc. It was also PSG’s ninth victory in a row in all competitions, their longest run since the 10 straight wins of early 2025, and it keeps them top of the table after this round.

Le Havre in trouble

Things look far bleaker on the other side. Le Havre have lost five league games in a row and have collected just two points all season, which leaves them last. Their ultras stayed silent for 15 minutes in protest, came back to the stands to voice their anger at the club, and most of the stadium eventually sided with the team instead. Didier Digard’s side now has a lot of work to do.
