Forty-five million euros, two appearances, one assist
Mika Godts faced the press on Thursday after PSG training at Campus. The Belgian winger arrived this summer from Ajax Amsterdam for 45 million euros. He is 21 and has played twice in the Paris shirt.
He did not say much, which in football usually means either confidence or caution. He said he came to learn and to play at a club he describes as a giant. As for his position, he leaves that to the coach and says he can operate anywhere up front.
On settling in, he pointed to help from the players on and off the pitch. Nothing flashy, but the message was clear from a player walking into an already established dressing room.

No promises from Campos, and barely a conversation with Luis Enrique
Godts also opened up on the background to his move. According to him, Luis Campos made no promises. The Paris sporting adviser spoke to him about the club, the coach and the staff, but said nothing about guaranteed minutes.
As for Luis Enrique, the winger says there was little need for words. His mind was already made up. Their talk was about the way the team works, and not much else.
The Belgian describes himself as an attacking player who likes to dribble, score and set up team-mates. He has one assist from his first two appearances.
Barcola is gone, and the door still is not open
The hard part comes next. PSG’s attack is crowded and Bradley Barcola’s departure does not automatically clear a path. Godts will have to force his way in against competition he himself calls impressive.
PSG host Monaco at the Parc des Princes tomorrow. That will tell us whether Luis Enrique has more for him than late cameos.
