NBA: Gobert goes 0-for-13 over two games as Wolves slide

Thirteen misses and no baskets

Rudy Gobert has not scored from the field in two games. He took 13 shots against Cleveland on Monday and Golden State on Wednesday, and none went in. Minnesota lost both: 127-125 in overtime at Cleveland, then 119-114 to the Warriors.

L’Équipe reports that the French centre is shooting 37% for the season, well below his usual standard. Five games in, his offence has become a concern for Minnesota.

A bigger problem without Edwards

Gobert remains valuable on defence, and L’Équipe notes that part of his game is still intact. The issue is closer to the basket, where he needs to bring more impact than he has so far.

The timing is awkward for Minnesota. Anthony Edwards scored 47 in the loss at Cleveland and is now out for an extended period, which leaves the offence missing its star. The Warriors game showed how thin the margin is, with Stephen Curry scoring 44 in a five-point win.
