George Eddy arrives at MathOdds!

George Eddy joins us !

We are proud and thrilled to announce that George Eddy is joining mathodds. A towering figure in French basketball and the unmistakable voice of the NBA for several decades, he brings his insight, experience and expertise to the mathodds community.

For the vast majority of French fans, Mr Eddy’s name is tied to the NBA. For years his voice soundtracked the biggest nights in American basketball: the brilliance of the stars, the NBA Finals, the major international showpieces too.

It is hard to talk about “Mister George” without looking back at his spell with CANAL+. Brought in by Charles Bietry in 1985, right at the launch of the channel, he quickly became the voice of the NBA in France. He also called the very first NBA game shown by CANAL+, then spent decades covering the rise of American basketball across the country.

From the first tape-delay broadcasts to live NBA Finals beamed in from the United States, George Eddy saw the league’s great eras from the inside, Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls included. In 1991 he called Jordan’s first title-winning Finals live, then kept covering the game’s biggest stars and the generations that shaped American basketball.

His CANAL+ career was never only about the NBA. A huge fan of American sport, he also covered American football, the NFL and the Super Bowl, plus plenty of major international events. Over the years his phrases, his accent and his passion became part of NBA nights for a whole generation.

Beyond the voice and the memories it stirs, George adds a rare depth of knowledge to mathodds, built over decades spent watching, analysing and breaking down basketball at the highest level.

His arrival is a major step for mathodds, a platform that wants to keep gathering voices who can offer a real take on sport, with analysis and debate that go well beyond bare stats.

What changes next

The full details of this brand-new partnership will land soon. What we can confirm already : George Eddy will take part in the Loge des Experts on PenseBet, where he will add his NBA analysis and his own picks.

There is more on the way. A weekly opinion piece and round-up between NBA game nights, plus a podcast with George Eddy and his guests from the start of the new season.

Welcome to mathodds, George!

Some partnerships just have a different feel. This is clearly one of them.

So welcome to George Eddy, and welcome to the mathodds journey.

If you have been missing those NBA nights with the GOAT of French basketball commentary, don’t worry, they are coming back very soon with mathodds.
