“I have to ask the questions”
Marseille have lost their way again, and Bruno Genesio knows where the first question lands. Speaking ahead of Sunday’s home game with Le Havre, the coach put himself at the front of the queue after the Europa League defeat at Sturm Graz.
“When behaviour changes from one game to the next, and you’re the coach, you have to question yourself,” he said. “If those games weren’t approached well, maybe my message didn’t get through. The first one who has to ask questions about how we approach matches is me.”

A season of swings
OM sit tenth in Ligue 1 and have no points from three Europa League games. They had won at Troyes and Angers before Graz, a run that suggested the mood was lifting.
Genesio refused to pile on his squad. He said the group has the means to bounce back, as it has shown before, and listed what needs fixing: too many balls lost in dangerous areas, and doubts over some of the choices and messages.
“Questioning yourself is our job,” he said. “It’s my duty to ask what we can improve technically and tactically.”
Le Havre come first, then Toulouse. Win both and Marseille could climb back into the top third of the table. Lose at home on Sunday and the pressure on Genesio will only grow.
