Four months to erase a name
Back on 25 May, RedBird announced a shake-up at the top of AC Milan and Giorgio Furlani survived it. He kept his office, he kept the title, and the story moved on.
Until Tuesday.
The club’s new board structure has been filed with the business register, and Furlani’s name is not on it. No statement, no send-off. Just a document.

Nine directors, and Article 15 says nine is the floor
Paolo Scaroni chairs the executive. Massimo Calvelli moves in as chief executive.
Gerry Cardinale stays on the board, which means RedBird still holds the reins, with eight other directors around him.
That number carries some weight. The lawyer Felice Raimondo pointed out on X that Article 15 of the club’s statutes sets nine members as the minimum. Milan’s board is legal by exactly one seat.
A change at the top with the season already running
The calendar makes it stranger. Milan beat Lecce on Sunday and are trying to get their Serie A campaign moving with Ruben Amorim in the dugout.
Swapping out a chief executive in late September is not housekeeping.
Furlani had been running things since RedBird arrived. He goes out through the back door on a Tuesday afternoon, at the moment a clerk updates a line in a register.
