Four goals at the Kooi Stadion
Twente ran out 4-1 winners at Cambuur on Sunday night in Eredivisie round four. Ruud Nijstad opened the scoring in the 22nd minute after being picked out by Bart van Rooij. Wout Weghorst doubled the lead four minutes later.
Marko Pjaca killed off the contest straight after the break, striking in the 47th minute after being sent through by Sondre Ørjasæter. Younes Taha added a fourth in the 82nd minute. Idris Hamache grabbed a late consolation for Cambuur in the 88th.
Erwin Blank was the referee in front of 13 105 spectators.

Twente goalkeeper bags an assist
Weghorst’s goal deserves a close look. It was Joël Drommel, Twente’s goalkeeper, who provided the assist on the move. The keeper ended the night with one big chance created to his name, level with Bart van Rooij and Sondre Ørjasæter.
That was Weghorst’s first goal of the season. Signed by Twente this summer after his spell at Ajax, the Dutch forward hit the target with all four of his efforts. Perfect finishing. Not so perfect elsewhere, though, as he lost all seven of his ground duels.
Jan Plat had set his side up in a very deep 5-4-1. Ismaël Baouf won seven of his eight duels and made three interceptions. It still wasn’t enough.
Twente climb, Cambuur stay bottom
John van den Brom’s side kept the ball moving. They had 64% of the possession and created three big chances, while their opponents had none. Daouda Weidmann completed all 33 of his passes and completed four dribbles. Ramiz Zerrouki fired 29 passes into the final third, Younes Taha 25 and Bart van Rooij 21.
The table tells its own story. Twente move up to six points and sit ninth. Cambuur are stuck at the bottom in 18th, still without a point after four games.
Rafik El Arguioui still leads the league scoring chart with three goals. He had three shots on Sunday, none on target. Leeuwarden’s side are going to need more than their star striker soon enough.
