A club shop, a crowd, a smile
Diego Moreira has not kicked a ball for Milan yet. He has already won the place over. The Belgian dropped in to meet Rossoneri supporters at the club’s official store, and he walked back out having said exactly what they wanted to hear.
“AC Milan are one of the biggest clubs in Italy. When a club like this comes calling, you don’t hesitate,” he said, in comments carried by Corriere dello Sport. The moment he heard about Milan’s interest, he added, his mind went straight to the club’s golden years.

53 million reasons to hurry
The fee puts the whole thing in perspective. Milan paid Strasbourg 53 million euros up front, with another 10 million sitting in bonuses. For the Alsace club, a windfall. For Moreira, instant weight on the shoulders.
The player prefers to talk about the small stuff. “The first few days have been magical. It’s a new experience. My team-mates welcomed me very well from day one and I felt at home as soon as I arrived.” The settling-in appears finished before his first appearance.
Amorim holds the stopwatch
Now for the pitch. Moreira is waiting on his chance and manages to say so without sounding twitchy. “I’m ready to play and I’m waiting for my moment. I’m convinced the coach will bring me on at the right time, for him and for me.” Ruben Amorim decides the timing. With that kind of money on the table, the wait is unlikely to stretch far.
