Seven straight quality starts
Ninety-five pitches, 66 of them strikes. Reid Detmers is in the best stretch of his career, and Tuesday night in Anaheim did nothing to slow it down. The Angels left-hander went six innings against Seattle, gave up three runs on seven hits, walked one and struck out eight. Los Angeles won 6-4.
That is seven quality starts in a row. He walked off the mound one strikeout shy of 200 for the year. His record sits at 6-8, a number that says plenty about the Angels and very little about him.

Siri and Neto do the damage early
Los Angeles did not wait around. Mike Trout singled in the first, then came home on Jose Siri’s double into the left-field corner. Siri stole third. Vaughn Grissom’s sacrifice fly brought him in. 2-0.
The third inning went much the same way. Zach Neto found that same left-field corner with a triple, scoring Wade Meckler, and Siri followed with an RBI single to make it 4-0. Siri finished 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Neto had a triple, a single, two runs and an RBI.
Denzer Guzman’s two-run single off Cooper Criswell with the bases loaded in the fifth pushed it to 6-3.
Raleigh goes deep, Seattle still can’t close the gap
The Mariners had their moments. Cal Raleigh’s 22nd home run, a three-run shot in the fourth, cut the deficit to 4-3. J.P. Crawford sent his 12th of the season 393 feet to right in the seventh.
Ben Joyce made the ninth harder than it needed to be, walking pinch-hitters Lazaro Montes and Taylor Ward before getting Crawford to pop one up to first base. Fifth save of the year for him, most on the roster.
Seattle drop to 70-81 and a losing season is now official. Three defeats in four. Rookie Kade Anderson wore this one, five runs in four and a third innings. The Angels, 57-93, ended a three-game slide.
