A virtual ride from the Monaco window
Tadej Pogacar has been quiet since August. On Saturday morning he broke the silence from his apartment in Monaco, riding a home trainer in front of a laptop with roughly 10,000 fans logged in to a group session organised by his partner MyWoosh.
The five-time Tour de France winner said he resumed training about two weeks ago and has found some of his fitness again. It was his first extended public appearance since the crash that ended his Vuelta on 29 August, an accident that left him with a concussion, a broken left collarbone and a stable fracture of a cervical vertebra. The injuries also cost him the chance to defend his world title in Montreal.
That title stayed in the family. His UAE Emirates-XRG teammate Brandon McNulty took the rainbow jersey, and Pogacar was warm about it. McNulty “really deserves” the win, he said, and he plans to help him on some races so the jersey gets seen.

Three options for 2027
The calendar question came up quickly. Pogacar, 28, said his team has put three options in front of him and that the final choice will be made at the December training camp. His expectation is clear all the same: the UAE Tour, the classics and the Tour de France are all “very likely”, and he added there is no real mystery about it.
He admitted he has not studied the 2027 Tour route, revealed last week. After seven Tours, he said, the host cities matter little because the race is always the hardest in the world. Asked whom he admires in the bunch, he named Mathieu van der Poel and Remco Evenepoel for their drive, and said he would have liked to race the generation of Contador, Cancellara and Boonen.
The session lasted about half an hour. Afterwards Pogacar left for a real three-hour ride outdoors.
