Chicago pounces at Wrigley
The Chicago Cubs handed the Los Angeles Dodgers a fourth straight loss on Monday night, running out 10-5 winners at Wrigley Field. Three two-run homers did the damage, from Seiya Suzuki, Carson Kelly and Kevin Alcantara, and the Cubs never trailed once they got rolling.
Michael Busch shaped the night against the team that drafted and developed him. The first baseman drove in three runs versus his former Dodgers, the sort of personal subplot that tends to stick in a clubhouse. Chicago moved to 2-2 on a seven-game homestand and kept pace at the top of the National League.

A Dodgers slide that keeps growing
Los Angeles owns the best record in baseball, yet the past week has exposed a cold stretch. The Dodgers have now dropped six of eight after Boston swept them over the weekend, and the offense went quiet again outside of a Tommy Edman three-run homer and a Teoscar Hernandez blast.
Starter Justin Wrobleski took the brunt of it. He was charged with seven runs on seven hits across four and a third innings and fell to 11-3, his first loss since May 22. A pitcher who had gone more than two months without a defeat picked a rough night to find one.
What it means
One series will not undo a season this strong for Los Angeles, but the timing matters with August pushing toward the stretch run. For the Cubs, beating the sport’s standard-bearer at home is the kind of result that hardens belief inside a contender.
