A 71 to finish eighth
Charlie Woods posted a 71, one under par, on Sunday at TPC Sawgrass. Tiger Woods’ son finished tied for eighth in the Junior Players Championship in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
Over the three days, he finished on 215, one under par, seven shots behind the winner. Last year, on the same course and in the same event, he was tied for 31st.
The Stadium Course is no walk in the park. It’s the same test the pros face every March at The Players Championship.

Nine messy holes, then three birdies on the bounce
His front nine was all over the place: four bogeys and three birdies. The fourth birdie, at the 596-yard par-5 ninth, sparked a run of three straight.
Birdies at 10 and 11 brought him back under par for the round and for the tournament. He then played the rest of the way in level pars, including the 17th, the famous island green.
Woods, 17, is heading into his final year of high school. He’s signed with Florida State, where he’ll join the golf team when college starts in 2027. He was 306th in the American Junior Golf Association rankings before the event. That top-10 finish should push him up the list.
The win went to JP Lynch of Austin, Texas. He fired a 66 on Sunday, six under par, to finish eight under for the week.
Lynch turned in 34 on the front nine, two under, then rolled in birdies at 10, 11, 12 and 14. He was only one shot ahead of Brady Barnum when bad weather stopped play late in the afternoon.
On the back nine, both men made par at 17 and 18. Barnum, who carded a 68 in the final round, finished one shot back.
Ronin Banerjee (69) and Canadian Alexis Rouleau (70) tied for third at four under. Sam Carraher (73) was fifth at three under.
