Vitinha, tracked since his teens
Luis Campos is not hiding his admiration. The PSG sporting adviser has known Vitinha since he was 15 or 16. “He has always impressed me,” he said, as a guest on the Portuguese podcast Portugal Football Summit, hosted by Pedro Pinto.
Campos believes the Portugal midfielder was already among the three best players in the world last season. He now sees him as one of the very best in his position. The PSG chief says part of that rise has come since Sergio Conceicao took charge, bringing “a different intensity to the game, a different physical dimension” to the Paris squad.

Joao Neves, wise beyond his years
Luis Campos is just as generous about Joao Neves. “He is an exceptional boy, very intelligent, capable of making excellent decisions and, above all, a fighter,” he said. The PSG sporting adviser went even further, predicting a big future for the Portugal midfielder, whom he sees becoming “one of the two or three most important pieces in a team”.
Still a young arrival in the capital, Neves has had to adapt to a new league, a new dressing room and new demands. Campos insists his adjustment has been “extraordinary” and points to a level of maturity that is rare for his age.
Two Portugal players at the heart of the Paris plan
Vitinha and Joao Neves now form a central Portugal axis in PSG’s midfield. Campos’ words, spoken away from the club’s usual microphones, confirm the growing importance of the two midfielders in the capital club’s plans, with Ligue 1 back up and running after the international break.
