An order from the interior ministry
Brest supporters will not be allowed to travel to Lorient on Monday. The French interior ministry published an order on Saturday morning that bans, from midnight to midnight, any individual or group travel by anyone presenting as a Stade Brestois supporter between the communes of Finistère and the Morbihan sub-prefecture of Lorient.
The ministry cited the history between the two sets of fans and the risk of serious public disorder. The animosity between the Breton clubs is strong, and it plays out against a tense social backdrop.

A derby already moved once
The fixture, matchday nine of Ligue 1, was first scheduled for Saturday evening. It was pushed back to Monday at 8:45 pm because of a heavy weekend for the security forces, amid strong local protest activity. French authorities had rated the game high risk, at level four out of five, according to the national anti-hooliganism division. Plans called for around 100 riot police and about 40 officers, with fans from both camps present.
The new order removes the away supporters from that equation. Brest said in a statement that it regrets a decision that deprives its fans of the chance to follow the team in this derby, but that it can only take note. The away section at the Moustoir will stay empty for the first Breton derby of the Ligue 1 season.
