Four at-bats, four different hits
Double in the first, triple in the third, single in the fourth, home run in the sixth. JJ Bleday completed the cycle in sequence and drove in three runs as the Cincinnati Reds beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 11-5 overnight in Phoenix.
The homer was his 21st of the season, a career high, a 370-foot liner over the right-field fence that stretched the lead to 8-2.
It was the eighth cycle in Reds franchise history. The previous one belonged to Elly De La Cruz, who did it in June 2023, in his 15th major league game.

De La Cruz came a triple short
De La Cruz finished with four hits: two singles, a double and his own 21st homer. Only a triple stood between him and a second cycle. He struck out in his last at-bat in the eighth.
No game in major league history has produced two cycles from the same team. That record survived by one hit.
Cincinnati piled up a season-high 16 hits and four homers, one night after being shut out on four singles in a 9-0 loss, the 13th time the Reds have been blanked this season. The top three in the order, De La Cruz, Sal Stewart and Bleday, accounted for 11 hits, five RBIs and eight runs between them.
Stewart pushes his RBI lead to 97
Stewart had three hits and an RBI to reach 97 for the season, still the major league lead. Rookie Hector Rodriguez hit his first big league homer and Matt McLain also went deep as the Reds scored in every inning but the second and ninth, homering in four consecutive innings starting in the fifth. Tyler Stephenson added two hits, two sacrifice flies and three RBIs.
Rhett Lowder (5-8) worked six innings for the win, giving up six hits and four runs, three earned, with one strikeout and one walk. It was only his second win since April 20. Michael Soroka (8-4) lasted until one out in the fourth for Arizona and was charged with six runs on six hits.
Tim Tawa homered for a career-best eighth and Nolan Arenado also went deep for the Diamondbacks, who had won two straight and four of seven. Gabriel Moreno doubled in the ninth to extend his career-best hitting streak to 15 games. Cincinnati evened the weekend series and halted a run of six losses in eight.
